Can you take a medication pen on a plane?

Yes. For departures from Poland, keep medication needed during your journey in carry-on, in its original packaging. Extra supplies may go in checked baggage if you can meet their storage requirements.

Keep medication needed during your journey in its original packaging in carry-on. Essential liquid medicine may exceed the usual 100 ml limit; show it at security. Present cooling gel packs separately, and keep needles with the medicine.

Checked baggage

Extra medication may go in checked baggage in its original packaging if you can maintain the temperature required for that product. Keep medicine needed during the flight in carry-on.

Mounjaro

Keep Mounjaro KwikPen refrigerated at 2–8°C before use. After first use, it may be kept below 30°C for 30 days, then discarded. A single-dose pen and a vial are different presentations: do not apply the KwikPen 30-day rule to them. Keep the packaging and the needles you need together. EMA: Mounjaro product information.

Wegovy

After first use, Wegovy FlexTouch can be kept for 6 weeks below 30°C or refrigerated at 2–8°C. An unused single-dose pen may be kept out of the refrigerator for up to 28 days at no more than 30°C. Before you travel

  1. Keep the pen in its original packaging showing the medicine name and dose.
  2. Check the leaflet for storage temperatures and present any cooling pack separately at security.
  3. Keep the pen and the needles you need accessible. Match the amount of liquid medicine in carry-on to the journey.
